the week.
Mr. Todd of Wauconda spent a few days at Mr. C. Wool’s last week.

Mr. Staples preached at the Baptist church Sunday.
Will Barnett who has been quite sick is able to be around again.
There will be a fruit and pop-corn sociable at the residence of Mr. Will-
iam Howarth Wednesday evening, May 4. All are invited to come.
A preacher from India will preach at the M. E. church Sunday, May 8. All
the children and older ones are invited to hear him at 1 p.m. of the
same day.
The W. R. C. ladies have their program made out for entertainment to be
given May 30.
Miss Carrie Kingsley has gone to Omaha on a two week’s vacation.
Mrs. D. Lytle of Palatine visited her daughter, Mrs. F. E. Hawley last week.
A champion domino player of Elgin, Ill. was here one day last week looking for
someone that could play. We understand that he found his match.
Mr. M. B. McIntosh has changed his mind and will not build a house this
summer.
Miss Lillie Shults of Chicago is visiting at Mr. E. Lamey’s this week.
The Vermilya house is being painted. Mr. A. Houghtaling is the artist.

near future.
Mr. Frank Gleason of Nebraska is visiting his father, Mr. A. Gleason.
Mr. Dunn and family of Chicago were here Friday; his daughter Maggie’s little girl was brought here for burial that day.
Mrs. Hendricks of Chicago was a visitor at Mr. Manford Bennett’s
Thursday of last week.
Miss L. Fitzsimmons of Janesville, Wis., visited her friend, Miss Maud
Gray, the first of the week.
Thomas H. Reynolson of Chicago visited here last week.
George Searls landed a four and a half pound black bass with a trolling spoon at Grassy lake Saturday.
The Rev. Goessele of the Esher faction preached at the residence
of Mr. G. Frye Sunday p.m. as he was not given permission to preach
at the Evangelical church.
Misses Laura and Addie Church of Barrington Center called here Saturday.
Fred Vermilya has a pony.
Mr. H. H. Church has sold his carriage team to Woodstock parties.
Bishop Hayman preached at the Methodist church Thursday night.
Eugene Dodge arrived here Saturday.
Mr. J. W. Robinson, the piano agent, was here Saturday.
Mr. C. C. Hennings is having his house painted by Decker & Son.
Mr. H. C. P. Sandman has employed Krahn & Son to paint his residence
and farm house.
Mr. W. J. Harrower has a vacation this week.
Miss Maud Otis is at home spending her school vacation.
Miss Bertha Sawyer has gone to Carpentersville.
There is a great demand for houses here this spring. Several families
are unable to find a place to rent.
Harry Porter has secured a job painting for the C. & N. W. railroad.
Mrs. F. J. Hawley spent Saturday in Chicago.
Master James Hawley was on the Streets with his “three-wheeler”
the other day.
Mrs. J. K,. Bennett moved to Nippersink Monday.
Miss Millie Hicks of Palatine visited at Mr. E. R. Clark’s Saturday and
Monday.
Mr. E. W. Seipman and Mr. Carl F. Meyer expect to build in the near
future.
Mr. M. H. Mcintosh will build a house east of his residence.
Mr. and Mrs. M. C. McIntosh of Chicago visited his parents Sat-
urday and Sunday.
The sociable given at the residence of Mr. A. W. Meyer Wednesday evening was a grand success. His large and pleasant home was filled with people.
The evening was spent playing social games.
Mr. William Sherman returned to Barrington this week.
